PRECISION CLIMBING TRAINING

Tension Board
on a Lemur frame.

The open reference in board training, on the most reliable structure on the market.

Wood holds, a community app, tens of thousands of shared problems. The Tension Board is the system Lemur recommends first — and the one we install best.

The TB2 offers both spray and mirror hold layout options from a single versatile holds set.

Lemur builds the frame, the foundation every system mounts onto.

And you don't have to juggle suppliers: we can provide the complete Tension Board 2 package — frame, holds and LED kit — and coordinate the flooring through our international reseller network. One partner, one delivery, one install: fewer contacts, fewer delays, full accountability on the whole space.

Wood Holds, Standardized Layout, Global Community

Tension Board represents the reference system for precision climbing training with wood holds. Mounted on Lemur's adjustable climbing frame, it delivers tens of thousands of community problems on wood/polyurethane holds designed for longer training sessions — installed in one day with zero specialized tools.

 HOW IT WORKS

The Tension Board works in three layers:

  • the Lemur adjustable climbing frame (4 available sizes)
  • the Tension LED climbing holds
  • the Tension Climbing app

The wood holds aren't aesthetic choice; they're functional: softer on skin, better foot precision, ideal for longer sessions on an adjustable climbing frame

 WHAT SETS IT APART

What Sets Tension Board Apart on a Lemur Frame Tension Board delivers four competitive advantages:

  • Textured wood holds + polyurethane options (softer on skin for longer sessions)
  •  Symmetrical, standardized layout that exposes imbalances and enables global problem interoperability
  • Tens of thousands of community problems, updated daily
  • Precision climbing training optimized for foot work and climbing technique

This is why climbers choose Tension Board: the connected climbing wall for precision-focused training with sustainable foot health.

 ORIGINS

Born in a Denver Workshop.

Tension Climbing was founded in 2015 in Denver, Colorado, by climbers and coaches Will Anglin and Ben Spannuth, frustrated with sharp plastic edges in connected climbing walls. Their mission: wood holds, precision training, and a coach's approach to standardized board training. A decade later, Tension Board has become a global reference for precision climbing training.

 2015

Launched in Denver with wooden training tools — campus rungs and hangboards — designed by climbers, for climbers.

 THE FOUNDING

2022

New generation: redesigned app, dual-texture polyurethane added without losing the wood DNA, mirror + spray layouts. The version Lemur installs today.

 TENSION BOARD 2 (TB2)

2017

One of the first standardized LED training walls in the world. Wood holds, symmetrical layout, a global community of shared problems.

 THE TENSION BOARD

 WHY TENSION WITH LEMUR

Why Choose Tension Board on Lemur?

Precision demands precision engineering. A Tension Board is only as good as the adjustable climbing frame carrying it. The Lemur frame is natively Tension-ready — engineered for hold accuracy, built for durability, installed in one day.

COMPLETE TRAINING SPACE

A Tension Board is just one piece.

A connected board comes into its own inside a space designed for progress: a connected wall, a spray wall, a Güllich pan, a conditioning zone. That's a Training Room — and it's exactly what Lemur builds, from first sketch to opening day.

YOUR QUESTIONS

Tension Board FAQ

01  Can you switch systems after installation?

Only within certain system variants. For example, a Tension Board 2 can be changed between Mirror and Spray layouts without replacing the supporting structure.

Switching to a different system—such as Kilter, Moon or So iLL—typically requires new panels, holds and lighting components. The main frame can usually remain, but the conversion is still a significant installation. We recommend selecting the right system before ordering.

02  How is it different from the Kilter Board?

Both are connected systems, but their philosophies differ. The Tension Board uses wood holds (softer, better foot precision), an open layout and a very active community. Lemur is compatible with both — Tension is our top recommendation for its durability and open ecosystem.

03  Does the Tension Board work in my country?

Yes. 100–240V power, with a cable supplied to local standards. We ship to 26 countries, with special arrangements in place so that European shipping costs are close to North American ones.

04   What size wall should I choose?

Wall sizes come in four options: 12×12, 10×12, 12×8, 10×8 (H×W in feet). Bigger isn't always better—it depends on your space and training goals. Each size can run All Sets + LED kit, All Sets without LED, LED kit alone, Plastic Hold Set, or Wood Hold Set. Most climbers start with Wood (better precision, lighter on tendons) and evolve from there. The Lemur team helps you size correctly during your feasibility study so you get the right footprint for your space.
